How your child will learn
Prepare with experts
IELTS is the world's most popular English exam, and because British Council co-owns it, our teachers know it inside out. Your child will prepare with specialists who teach IELTS, using authentic papers and official preparation materials.
Get to know the test
Your child will become familiar with the four papers that make up IELTS – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking – and learn exactly what each one asks of them. Understanding the exam structure and task types removes the unknowns and builds confidence.
Build skills and strategies
Through regular practice, your child will develop the study and language skills the exam demands, sharpen their writing and speaking, and master key grammar and vocabulary. They will also learn exam strategies that help them work calmly and effectively under timed conditions.
Look ahead to university
Alongside exam preparation, your child will gain insight into the application process for UK universities, so their IELTS score becomes a first step towards studying abroad rather than just a test result.
Support for parents
Track your child's progress through the Learning Hub
Our supportive teachers are here for you as well as your child. Regular feedback and a personalised online dashboard on our secure Learning Hub let you follow your child's progress, see how their skills are developing across the four papers and celebrate every improvement along the way.
Convenient timetables
All our IELTS Coach classes are held in person at our teaching centres, with a manageable schedule of around three hours a week. A timetable of weekday and weekend classes helps the course fit around school and busy family life.
