25th FOTOFESTIVAL - ART. COLLABORATION. COMMUNITY
Art as a tool for understanding the world. Collaboration and community as a response to tensions that affect us all. The jubilee 25th edition of the Photofestival in Łódź will take place from June 18 to 28, 2026, presenting a program that addresses the most important challenges of contemporary times - from the crisis of democracy and climate disasters, through the impact of artificial intelligence on imagery, to the complex relationship between humans and the animal world. The festival offers a view of photography as a space for dialogue, critical thinking, and the creation of new forms of community.
As part of the Festival's Open Program – Quotes from Reality, it will be possible to see works by Eleonora Agostini (UK), in which a restaurant becomes a stage for social theater.
And high-f;ying gallery… by Luca Stephenson (UK) in his “An Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds,” This project will be presented in the form of 15 large-scale outdoor photos. This is an invitation to a world that remains hidden for many, to a place where bird breeding meets competition. The author was fascinated by the world of show birds. He was captivated not only by the diversity of colors and forms, but also by the dedicated community centered around this passion. He has been working with unusual models for 15 years. Each photo depicts a unique species, expanding his growing archive.

MAIN FESTIVAL CENTER
This year the main Festival Center will be located in the Biedermann Palace, which is part of a palace-park residence situated at the intersection of Franciszkańska and Północna Streets. In the attic of the building we will see the exhibition of Augustin Rebetez. For over fifteen years he has been building his own artistic universe. In Łódź, the audience will be able to appreciate the famous "very cute cats" of the Swiss artist, as well as crazy films, epileptic animations, and photographs, objects, and drawings in a unique, intense arrangement, right under the roof of the Biedermann palace. A must-see for anyone who needs a solid shock.
The program of the 25th Photo Festival will also include a music program prepared in collaboration with the festival partner Ravekjavik, an exhibition of photography books, Night of Photography, the City Program, and several dozen accompanying events. Detailed event programs as well as the city program, music program, and film program of the Photo Festival will be announced in April and May.
