"STILL HERE"
Jane Campbell & Bartosz Sadulski

As time goes by we lose things. But do we gain as well? What new discoveries, excitements and desires lie ahead of those we tend to see as too old to have any ? And what if all is not over yet? Life, in its late stages, has much to offer and anticipate.

British author Jane Campbell stormed into the world of literature with her debut short story only after turning 80. In her brilliant collection „Cat Brushing“ she brings in perspectives of 13 elderly women, who turn upside down pretty much everything we say and think of people who we see as no longer capable of leading an eventful and intricate life of their own.

Bartosz Sadulski, Polish poet and novelist, speaks to Jane Cambell on past, present and future of the senior. Book-signing is planned after the meeting.

This meeting is presented as part of Big Book Festival 2026 program – an international celebration presenting books and authors from Poland and abroad. This year’s edition title KIEDYŚ BYŁO LEPIEJ invites participants to play and reflect on our relation with the past and memories both as source of inspiration and object of idealisation.
The festival takes place 24-27 September 2026 in Warsaw.
