Hommage à Kieślowski 2026 is the 15th anniversary edition of the international film festival, taking place in Sokołowsko, Lowr Silesia, Poland, from 27–30 August 2026 under the honorary patronage of the European Film Academy. This special edition commemorates the 30th anniversary of Krzysztof Kieślowski's death and the 60th anniversary of his directorial debut, "The Office" (Urząd). Under the theme "Human at the Threshold", the festival presents outstanding auteur cinema from Poland and around the world, creating a space for dialogue between filmmakers, audiences, and cultures. The anniversary programme will also be marked by the symbolic inclusion of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Archive, curated by the Sokołowsko Laboratory of Culture, in the prestigious Treasures of European Film Culture programme of the European Film Academy.
A major highlight of this year's programme is the first-ever festival appearance of the Brothers Quay - the internationally acclaimed creators of animated films and visual artists based in the United Kingdom. The Brothers Quay will present their latest film, "Postscriptum. Ruminations on My Craft", inspired by the life and work of Krzysztof Kieślowski and by materials from his archive. They will also participate in a public discussion about their artistic practice and inspirations.
The Brothers Quay's visit has been made possible through the support of British Council Poland, celebrating cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between the United Kingdom and Poland.
