Multiple award-winning Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) takes on the title role in a brilliant, uncompromising reinterpretation of Molière’s classic bitter comedy. Telling the truth is not always easy. Alice, an acclaimed novelist, despises the layers of lies woven into modern society. Yet the more she challenges the beliefs and actions of those around her, the more she is criticised. Soon, she must confront the price of telling the truth in a world that would rather silence her.
Recorded live on the National Theatre stage, Martin Crimp’s (“Cyrano de Bergerac”) play, directed by Indhu Rubasingham, is one of the most eagerly anticipated theatrical events of the season.
