The XXXV Ars Cameralis Festival is about to begin and that means a November filled with concerts, literary meetings, workshops and exhibitions. An important part of the Festival’s program will be two screenings of BAFTA 2026 Shorts organized in cooperation with the British Council and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Once again we invite you to spend time with the talented filmmakers from various nationalities and regions who are currently working in the United Kingdom. The screenings will take place on the 13th November in Miejski Dom Kultury [Municipal Cultural Center] “Bogucice-Zawodzie” and on the 16th November in Miejski Dom Kultury [Municipal Cultural Center] “Koszutka” in Katowice. The audience members will have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in extraordinary stories which explore the complexity of human experience. This year’s programme include eight films which delve into themes such as the struggle of being true to oneself against all odds; intergenerational trauma and the journey home; the battle with one’s own body and the attempt to tame time; the pursuit of happiness away from prying eyes; love that transcends death; the confrontation with one’s inner demons; the weight of creative responsibility and the fading fame; and the rediscovery of the joy of life. With diverse perspectives, intricate relationships, moving tales, poignant confessions, intimate and personal essays, and rich, captivating worlds, there is something here for everyone.
