The project is focused on audience development. It is a project based on the cooperation of Polish and British museums and other cultural institutions. There is a major contribution of British museums both in The UK Museum Collections Management Standard (in relation to collections) and implementing community arts (in relation to audience), that inspired cultural workers and museum employees in Poland for decades. The project focuses on this heritage. The project is rooted in collections of artefacts from all the partnering museums, and how they can become vessels of new meanings and help to address contemporary audiences. An event open to a wider audience will be a seminar featuring British experts, intended for everyone involved in shaping cultural institutions. It will take place on June 5 at the Museum of Warsaw. Together, we will explore how city museums work on creating narratives about urban life, what the process of developing specific stories entails, and how to connect work with collections to audience engagement. The seminar will feature representatives from Manchester Art Gallery and the Museum of London.
