What Are Our Collective Dreams?
Art and transnational solidarity between Poland and the Global Majority
The exhibition aims to look at the complex history of the notion of ‘friendship of nations’, which played an important role in the socialist imaginary. Using historical and decolonial optics, the curators invite us to reflect on how this idea is being transformed into new bonds and communities today.
The exhibition is intended to be a welcoming place where Zachęta invites the public (including people with migrant experience or experience of exclusion), artists and activists to think together about the future, and to reflect on the role of cultural institutions in the context of socio-political change, their new aims and responsibilities.
