Sonic Playgrounds is a bold cross-cultural musical experiment bridging Belfast and Gdańsk, where sound knows no boundaries. Spearheaded by visionary composer Brian Irvine of Dumbworld and the fearless innovators of Remont Pomp, this project invites audiences into a vibrant collision of rhythm, improvisation, and storytelling. Expect a joyful cacophony crafted from djembe, balafon, barrels, and more – traditional and unconventional instruments wielded by Remont Pomp’s dynamic ensemble of neurodiverse musicians and international volunteers.
Dumbworld’s genre-defying approach to music, image, and words spanning opera, film, and public installations meets Remont Pomp’s raw, percussive energy and avant-garde ethos. Together, they’ll create immersive sonic landscapes that celebrate spontaneity, community, and artistic risk-taking. With performances unfolding across both cities, Sonic Playgrounds promises to be a thrilling testament to the power of collaboration and the universal language of sound.
