British Council and Multikino would like to invite you to the first screening of a new performance by the DV8 Physical Theatre ‘John’. The screening is a part of "British scene on big screen" programme and it will take place on 5th February in Multikino Cinemas across Poland.
Internationally renowned DV8 Physical Theatre has produced 18 highly acclaimed dance-theatre works and four films for television, which have garnered over 50 national and international awards. The company brings their powerful new production ‘John’, combining dance, movement and spoken word to the National Theatre.
Lloyd Newson, DV8’s Artistic Director, interviewed more than 50 men asking them frank questions, initially about love and sex. One of those men was John. What emerged was a story that is both extraordinary and touching. After years of crime, drug use and struggling to survive, John’s desire for a new life leads him to a place unknown by most. Hannes Langolf, playing the title role, performed in earlier DV8 Physical Theatre productions: ‘To Be Straight With You’ and ‘Can We Talk About This?’, and cooperated with other companies such as Random Dance, Punchdrunk and Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre.
The spectacle was registered before a live audience, HD quality and DD Surround. Polish subtitles included.
Screening for Adult audience (18yrs +).
The screening will take place in 17 Multikino cinemas: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź (Silver Screen), Olsztyn, Poznań Stary Browar, Rzeszów, Sopot, Szczecin, Warszawa Ursynów, Warszawa Złote Tarasy, Wrocław Arkady Wrocławskie, Włocławek and Zabrze.
