The dance film "Feathers" touches on the themes of disability, attitude to one's own body and finding unity in friendship, solidarity, and nature. For those working on this film, inclusivity in art was of great importance. The process of making the film was an opportunity for all artists to share their thinking and knowledge about their life experiences in different cultural and geographical contexts.
The project was created with the participation of Polish artists Dominika Feiglewicz and Patrycja Jarosińska – participants of the Dance and Disability laboratories, as a result of cooperation with the British organization METAL and British choreographer Kate Marsh, director Jay Gearing and cinematographer Paweł Penarski. The artists met earlier during the international choreographic residency of the National Institute of Music and Dance PolandDances.
The residency is part of the project "International and intersectional dance for camera" co-organized by Narodowy Instytut Muzyki i Tańca and METAL. This project is funded by the British Council under the International Collaboration Grants Programme.
