16:30 Closing Remarks

On March 5, we invite researchers, activists, digital technologies experts, policy makers, civil society, gender equality experts, young people, young journalists, and content creators from Europe to join our online workshop.

During the session, we will provide a practical space for in-depth work on countering gendered disinformation. Through interactive sessions, participants will explore tools and methodologies, and develop hands-on skills for educating others about tracking, reporting, and responding to gendered disinformation and misinformation.

The workshops will support peer learning and collaboration among civil society organisations, while contributing to the development of concrete recommendations that can be applied in advocacy, policy support, and cooperation with public institutions, media, and technology platforms.

Workshop will be conducted by Dominika Cieślikowska, intercultural psychologist, diversity trainer, facilitator, and educational supervisor with over 20 years of experience in designing and delivering high-impact educational programmes.

About the Event

The conference & workshop are organized by the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (https://medinstgenderstudies.org/) in Cyprus with the support of Fundacja British Council (Poland), as part of the international G-LENS project (Gender-Inclusive, Long-lasting, and Empowered Networks and Societies). This two-year (2024-2026) European project, co-funded by the European Union, adopts a comprehensive approach to countering gendered disinformation. By combining research, education, and advocacy, G-LENS empowers young people to create a more inclusive and democratic digital environment.

About the host

Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies was established in 2000 by a group of gender researchers, activists and academics at the University of Nicosia. They brought together a research-focused team who shared a common aim: promoting women's rights and gender equality across Cyprus, the Mediterranean, and, following Cyprus’s accession in 2004, the European Union. Since then, our NGO has grown into the leading feminist organisation bringing change and hope to the advancement of women’s rights.
