An interactive learning adventure connecting with international students

Our fun summer courses will spark students’ imaginations, so they can express themselves with confidence that goes beyond their English language skills. Your child will work on an exciting range of practical and challenging tasks that encourage creative thinking and connect them with students from other British Council countries in a digital world.

English Summer School. Anytime. Anywhere.

Not sure how your summer plans may change? Our weekly English courses for teens can fit around whatever you decide to do during your holiday. Wherever you may be.

Four weeks to mix and match

This summer we offer a range of courses over four weeks. Each of them is an independent unit of study, so you can register your child for just one or more combinations of weeks that suits your plans and budget.

Delivered entirely online

All of our English summer courses will be online. This will help keep everyone safe and will give you the freedom to be anywhere. Whether you’re at home or out of town, all you’ll need is a laptop and a reliable internet connection.

Live lessons, expert teachers and interactive learning

Summer courses for Secondary students (12-17 years)

With our expert teachers, students will:

  • have lots of time to speak English and practise pronunciation with their teacher and fellow classmates
  • develop their communication skills by working on projects in pairs and small teams
  • focus on real-world topics like artificial intelligence, gaming, ethical food and climate change
  • work live with students from British Council classes around the world, taking part in discussions and solving problems.

Exam preparation courses for Secondary students (12-17 years)

In the exam preparation course, students will:

  • improve their ability and confidence when using spoken and written English in a wide variety of situations
  • develop essential exam techniques
  • focus on the skills needed for the exam of your choice through individual and groups activities
  • develop strategies for independent learning inside and outside the classroom
  • prepare for the Cambridge English exam: B2 First (FCE) or C1 Advanced (CAE).

How we teach online

We know that working on a screen can be more challenging and intense than in a classroom. To ensure students get the most out of their online learning we use a new combination of:

  • live online classes with their teacher and classmates
  • interactive independent study, set by your child's teacher to prepare them for the live lesson – all in a safe, easy-to-use learning environment.

This way the face-to-face screen time during the live class is used for an immersive and productive lesson – without being too long or too tiring. Which means we can maintain students’ attention throughout the whole lesson, allowing them more time to speak, participate, and build confidence.
