Disabled candidates

If you require special arrangements (e.g. you are a candidate with hearing or visual difficulties), please let the British Council know when registering and before making exam payments. We will ask you to deliver the following supporting documentations to the British Council by the registration deadline:

Candidates with dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysortographia

If you’d like to apply for extra time for the written parts of the examination because of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia please let the British Council know when registering.

We will ask you to deliver the following supporting documentations to the British Council by the registration deadline:

  • a medical report provided by a fully qualified educational, clinical or chartered psychologist, stating details of the degree of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia and issued not earlier than two years before the exam date
  • application for special arrangements.

No documents regarding special arrangements will be taken into consideration after the close of registration.

ACCA

We co-operate with the the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and organise exam sessions on their behalf.

If you would like to apply for special arrangements during your ACCA exams please report it to the institution. The terms and conditions related to the granting of special arrangements to candidates are defined by this examination board.

University of London

If you would like to apply for special arrangements, please fill in the application for special arrangements form and submit it (accompanied by other registration documents) to the British Council by the registration deadline.

Open University

We cooperate with the Open University and organise exam sessions on their behalf.

If you would like to apply for special arrangements during your Open University exams please report it to the institution. The terms and conditions related to the granting of special arrangements to candidates are defined by this examination boards.

Admission tests to the UK universities and colleges

We cooperate with the Admissions Testing Service to provide admission tests to the UK universities and colleges. These exams are: BMAT, CAT, ELAT, HAT, MAT, MLAT, OLAT, PAT, TSA, and STEP.

Fill in the application for special arrangements and submit it along with a medical statement  (issued not earlier than 2 years before the exam date) to the British Council office by the registration deadline if:

  • you require adaptation of test papers (e.g. hearing/sight impairment).
  • you require administrative changes (e.g. extra examination time, the use of computer, additional supervised breaks etc.).
