The city
With its remarkably preserved mediaeval square, elaborate facades, and a mixture of architectural styles, Krakow can lay claim to be one of the most beautiful cities in Central Europe, rivalling its near neighbours, Budapest, Vienna and Prague. Krakow is just as impressive to work in but is a much more intimately-sized city that trainees invariably come to love. Being so compact also means wherever you are is within a short walking (or cycling) distance to the Old Town.
Our centre provides full assistance and recommendations to candidates about accommodation in Krakow.
The British Council Krakow – the centre and its facilities
The British Council is housed in a 14th century mansion called The Grey House, overlooking the vibrant and bustling square with marvellous views of the Old Cloth Hall and the countless pavement cafes. The British Council is considered to be the premier language learning and training institute in the city thanks to its modern, well-equipped classrooms (with interactive whiteboards and air-conditioning), highly qualified teachers and a very pleasant atmosphere. There is also a freshly-stocked CELTA library brimming with resources to help you enliven lessons and provide extra information for your assignments.
The CELTA Course in Krakow
We deliver 11 full-time CELTA courses a year and, as a result, the courses run smoothly with positive feedback from candidates about all aspects of the course. We have a team of highly experienced tutors with over 10 years’ experience who have worked together on courses over the past 10 years, training well over 1500 trainees. The main course tutor also regularly assesses other CELTA courses in Central Europe.
